| 2000 | APFTI hosted the Manila Conference of the International Federation of Alternative Trade (IFAT) for IFAT partners in Asia. The conference committed to international fair trade standards. APFTI with other Asian Fair Trade organisations convened the Asia IFAT. |
| 2001 | APFTI changed its name to Advocate of Philippine Fair Trade, Inc to reflect the soul of fair trade - advocacy towards poverty alleviation, more just domestic and global trading systems and respect for environmental and natural resources. In October, APFTI was shortlisted by the Small Enterprises Research and Development Foundation for "Most Outstanding Private Sector Organization Serving SMEs" in the country. |
